National Museum of World War II Aviation
The National Museum of World War II Aviation is housed in the historic Cherry Creek Golf Course in Colorado Springs of CO. It was founded by the United States military and is one of the most visited national museums in the country. The Museum has an wide collection of restored military aircraft & other artifacts from World War II. It also has a gift shop, a Visitor’s Center, and a restaurant. A World War II commemorative stamp is one of the things that you can purchase in the gift shop, which also sells National War Memorial items.
The Museum was established in May 2021. Although it was found to honor the memories of those who served in the U.S. military, it is very much a place for the general public to learn about aviation history. The National Museum of World War II Aviation was designed by award-winning architect Frank Gehry, who is responsible for many of New York City’s tallest buildings, and the design of the Museum is similar. The Museum is one of only nine such museums to receive an award from the prestigious International Airport Commission. This is a fantastic achievement in itself.
