Blossom Trail
If you are looking for a hiking trail in the hills of the city of Fresno, about Blossom Trail is the right place to start your journey. The trail begins at Bee Beaches State Park, about 40 miles from Fresno. It takes you past ponderosa pines, oaks, and canyon walls with magnificent rock formations that will leave you breathless.
In February & March, this natural hiking trail is recognized for spectacular displays of wildflowers & beautiful fruit trees. The course also includes a section of the Transient Blooms Trail, which follows the creek through Bear Creek Wetland Center. This trail has a picturesque overlook of the area with streams running through it carrying water and wildlife.
Along the way about Blossom Trail, you will pass through two campsites, each with its unique attraction. At Cedar Springs Campsite, about seven miles long, you can enjoy a great outdoor playground. Piney wooded areas allow you to see abundant wildflowers during spring. The site offers restrooms, grills, and firewood so that you can use this wonderful place for camping in the summer as well as in the winter. A picnic table is provided for your use, and a pavilion offers a beautiful sight of rolling prairie grass.
The following camping site is at Mountain View Camp Resort, where you can stay for the night and then take a hike or bike ride to the trail’s end. At Mountain View, you can enjoy a cooler climate due to the proximity of the continental Divide. Within the campground, you will find a playground, bathrooms, and an access road about a mile long. Because of the proximity of the Divide, you can expect to see deer daily.
Hiking the trail allows you to get close to nature. You can expect wildlife encounters as you pass through the various habitat areas. In addition, you will pass through fields, brushlands, and small forests, among other exciting landscapes. There is signage that provides directions and information about the trail to help you avoid an accident.
